The Power of Women (and Men) Is Now Sharable

After having lunch with music composer Andrea Saparoff, I emailed her the pdf of the first book of my teen and young adult ebook series HOW TO SUCCEED IN HIGH SCHOOL, COLLEGE AND BEYOND. I also emailed her my blog post on the rapidly growing social media site Pinterest.

In response Andrea shared with me the Feb. 27th Adweek article by Tony Case “Editor’s Note: End of the Everywoman: Icons Oprah and Martha are flaming out as female-centric social media brand Pinterest becomes a phenom. It might not be a coincidence.”

The article (see link below) is quite interesting, and although I wanted to leave this comment on the article, none of my logins was accepted by the site:

Tony —

This is an excellent description of how power has shifted from a few top women into the hands of every woman who participates in online social media communities. This is true for music, for book publishing, even for movie producing (have you seen Amazon’s foray into movie producing with Studios.Amazon.com?)

As someone whose company helps book authors and service professionals take this power into their own hands, I am thrilled with the new opportunities popping up daily. And I have just started on Pinterest, which as a woman who grew up in the Midwest (how the site is skewing at the moment) I totally “get” why Pinterest can be so powerful.

We women as well as men are living in an amazing time when we can truly have more influence over our destiny. And, yet, at the same time, many women and men are unwilling to take hold of the opportunities now available to them.

Media coach Judy Jernudd is one of these people who knows that now is the time to empower ourselves. And she has created a product to help us do this. See www.mediastarpower.com (this is NOT an affiliate link).

And my upcoming ebook series HOW TO SUCCEED IN HIGH SCHOOL, COLLEGE AND BEYOND has advice that, if followed, can help you put your best foot forward whether online or in person.

To think more about this topic read the Adweek article now and visit Andrea Saparoff’s site to listen to samples of her compelling music.

P.S. Note the “Pin It” button under this blog post. If you are on Pinterest and like this post, you can “pin it.”
