When an ordinary woman is called to CIA headquarters to identify someone from her past, she has to elude her CIA babysitters to discover whether she is being made the fall guy. (Inspired by working as a Department of the Army civilian in counterintelligence in Munich.)

Beth Parsons’ husband was killed in a bombing of the U.S. Army’s Officers Club in Frankfurt, Germany, in 1972. Since then Beth has led a quiet life in Philadelphia, working as a marketing consultant and taking karate classes.

She is shocked when CIA agents come to her door and asks her to go with them to Langley to identify someone from her past.

When the driver bringing the person to meet Beth is killed and the person is gone, Beth realizes she is in danger of becoming the fall guy.

Determined not to be a victim, she takes matters into her own hands and escapes her CIA babysitter to try to find out what is really going on.

Then she must join forces with a man who may have been responsible for her husband’s death in order to search for the truth.

Her quest takes her to Europe and back again to the U.S. In the process she acquires the courage to go beyond the confines of her narrow life and to accept the realization that there are second chances.
