We are all here to celebrate,
A very, very important date,
The sixth of April, nineteen forty-six,
Before most of us were in the “mix.”

Chicago, Illinois was the place,
The blushing bride carried a bit of lace,
Next to her stood the handsome groom,
Joy and happiness filled the room.

Seventy-two years have now passed,
But to each other they still hold fast.
Lives lived well,
Even if one is a member of MEL.

Much shared love and for each other care,
Supporting the other in good times and those times not so fair
Even with three generations of offspring,
Together they can still do their own thing.

So raise your glasses to toast,
A couple with the most,
To them 72 years is not so long,
As long as to each other they belong.
